Industrial formats

Choose the ingredient format before asking for price.

Fig paste

A processed fig ingredient for buyers that need a defined texture, composition, packaging and technical specification.

Chopped / diced figs

Cut formats can be evaluated for bakery, cereal, confectionery and other ingredient applications, subject to producer capability.

Buyer-specific industrial format

Particle size, coating or processing expectations should be described in the buyer brief and confirmed with a suitable producer.

Applications

Built for ingredient buyers, not only retail buyers.

Bakery & fillings

Bread, pastry, cookies, fillings and fruit preparations.

Bars, cereals & snacks

Energy bars, granola, cereals and formulated snack applications.

Confectionery & formulations

Confectionery, fruit-based formulations and other industrial food applications.

Buyer specification brief

The quote is only as useful as the specification behind it.

For industrial ingredients, Metropolis Harvest first structures the requirement, then checks which producer can document and supply it.

Product definition

  • Paste, chopped, diced or another industrial format
  • Intended application and process
  • Desired texture / particle size
  • Conventional or organic requirement

Technical requirement

  • Moisture / soluble-solids target if relevant
  • Microbiological or chemical limits required by the buyer
  • Additive / preservative expectations
  • COA, analysis and certification requirements

Commercial requirement

  • Order quantity and estimated annual volume
  • Industrial packaging format
  • Destination and requested Incoterm
  • Sample and target delivery window

Important standards note

Whole-dried-fig standards should not be copied onto processing ingredients.

UNECE DDP-14 covers dried figs intended for direct consumption and explicitly excludes dried figs intended for processing. Industrial fig paste and cut formats therefore need buyer- and producer-specific specifications rather than assumptions copied from the whole-fruit standard.

How sourcing works

From formulation need to producer-ready inquiry.

01

Define the application

Tell us where and how the ingredient will be used.

02

Structure the specification

We turn product, technical and commercial needs into a clear brief.

03

Check producer fit

Capabilities, documentation, packaging and availability are checked with suitable producers.

04

Clarify sample and quote

Open points are resolved before a serious sample or quotation discussion.

Ingredient sourcing

Send the application, specification and volume — not just “fig paste price”.

A structured ingredient brief gives producers a better chance to answer accurately and helps us compare producer fit.
